Hello,

I am new to FreeNAS and although I do have it configured for basic services at the moment. I have encrypted the disk/volumes (not sure which convention is correct?) which I generally unlock via the web interface. I have enabled ssh and I would like to unlock the volumes through ssh/shell.

I did find one thread on this subject, but I am having a difficult time trying to understand it and use it in my case. The thread is:

http://forums.freenas.org/index.php...s-volume-via-shell-or-remotely-via-ssh.12018/

It seems that I need to use a "geli" command with the 'attach' command?? For a particular case, I have a disk named "ada0" and its corresponding storage/volume name is "drive00". What would the geli command look like to unlock the disk/volume?

Thanks,
Mark

Don't do this from the CLI. Use the API or the WebGUI. Anything else isn't recommended, isn't supported, and isn't something you should be trying to do.
