I am completely new to FreeNAS. I have used the default installation and wizard to set up my system and I don't remember it saying whether my system is configured as RAIDZ (or RAIDZ2 or 3). How can this be read on the web interface or command line?

You can look at the output of the command zpool status to know exactly what your pool configuration is like ;)

Mirror means exactly that, mirror. So that would be similar to a raid1 setup.
RaidZ1 is similar to a raid5, in terms of disk usage.

Thanks for your help all!

I have tested the system by disconnecting one of the disks. All data was OK and I simply wiped the disk I removed and reinstalled in the pool. Just checking the redundancy in the configuration.

Sorry for my NOOB test procedures/questions.

Thanks again.
