I have
Code:
default
Initial-install
FreeNAS-8bc8<huge hexadecimal looking thing>24908ysdwlkfjh21354
9.10.1
9.10.1-U3
9.10.1-U4

Obviously I should keep my current one and I should keep a previous backup incase.
What happens if I nuke DEFAULT or Initial install? I mean they are over a year old? Is it safe? I'd assume so since the option is there but it'd be nice to know.

No problem. You can remove them to free-up space on your boot device. I always keep the two last ones just in case.

Always save your config before updates and when making changes. That way if you need to reinstall you can restore it and have your users, shares, etc, back.

I sure hope the recovery process in FreeNAS10 is similar to 9, with the ability to burn a new key and just boot off it, import settings and go.
Thanks, I'll nuke all but the last 2.

I've done this and rebooted it was fine. Down to only 3.6GB used on my key.
