I’ve heard there is ‘ultra server’ in supermicro which is over 24 of memory slots available.
Do you like to recommend me to configure nas with a few of 16GiBs of memory, or use bunch of memories with low capacities like 4GiBs?

And Is there any recommendation what type of ram to use? ddr4 or 5? Or less 3?
Whatever cheapest?

Oops, I just found thread which is telling
bottleneck would be in lan or drives, no matter ddr3 or 4.
then over ddr3 memory, cheapest one would be best for me?

Sorry, I’m still not use to search with freenas forum

I don't think it makes much of a difference. Use whatever capacity DIMMs will get you the total amount of RAM you need with room to expand. Fewer and larger will likely save you a tiny amount of energy.

Surely the only appropriate answer here would be "whatever your motherboard/CPU calls for"--I don't think there are any boards out there that support more than one of these.
