Hi.
I've install several sata HDD to test and use in my truenas and in the screen of the truenas appear several data.

Is there a way to see this in the WebBroswer page of the truenas? The screen connected to my server is only 7" and is difficult to follow.

And a second question: It says that a FIRMWARE updatee is available for one HDD. I've never heared about updating a HDD firmaware. How is it done?

Not in TrueNAS itself. If you're using proper server gear with remote management, there's likely a web-based virtual console you could use, but that doesn't really have anything to do with TrueNAS.

Wouldn't dmesg cover that? (so a simple SSH session would be sufficient)... or even an SCP client to grab /var/log/messages

It actually listed 3 drives for firmware update, "ada0", "ada1" and "da2". I would guess that the firmware message is from SMART, which may know about an existing problem.

So, running "smartctl -a " on all the drives may give further information.

As for how to run the firmware update on the drive, vendors usually supply those details. Which it appears to be Seagate in this case.

Of course, a complete hardware list, including model, manufacturer and how each item is wired, plus the TrueNAS version is always helpful. (Like the Forum Rules request...)
