for a few years now I have been updating my home NAS, I started with a netgear 2 bay.
That got upgraded to a 12 bay FlexRAID system and then a 16 bay FlexRAID system.
I also used to write some tutorials for FlexRAID and help out on the FlexRAID support forum.
After FlexRAID I bought a 45 bay supermicro JBOD running hardware RAID but due to limitations of Hardware RAID I recently switched to Freenas.
Though so far it hasn't gone without a hitch.
At the moment I'm only running 27x4TB as my 18 remaining 4TB drives still hold data from the old array that is still being migrated over.
