Help with Plex Server install on FreeNas 9.1

I have attempted to seek assistance before however, i was told to create a new Thread because my previous Storage problem was solved. So here's where we left off:

So i get it all working (thanks to you) but i am am attempting to install the plex plugin now and i am having a small problem.
Currently, in storage I have 2 disks (1.3T total capacity) with the following:
/mnt/Volume1/ Windows_share.
Currently, I have all media sent to my windows_share. I am attempting to install plex however, when I go to ZFS Volume Manager to create volume, NO disks are available. Volume layout shows capacity 0B
How can i create ZFS volume to add plex? Do i have to Delete Windows_share, install plex then recreate windows_share? What is the best way to handle this?

You don't go to volume manager. Highlight 'Volume1' and click on the button below that says 'create zvol'

Or on the left hand menu, just click 'create zvol' under your 'Volume1'


I think you can install plugins on a dataset too, so you dont have to dedicate a zvol to it.

Here's what i'd like to do:
1. Create A volume and dataset
2. Share the dataset
3. Install the plugin and Configure Plugin and watch uploaded media.


I have attempted to follow the instructions from "PirateHost" but i am not sure if i am on the right track.
I know that its necessary to create a plex volume on /mnt/Volume1. I am assuming this should look something like this: /mnt/Volume1/plex. If this correct, i cannot achieve this. I am assuming this is because i already have an existing volume after /Volume1 which is:
/mnt/Volume1/Windows_Share.
After following PirateHost's instructions, I created the Zvol (named plex) by highlighting Volume1 and clicking on button below that says create zvol. When this was completed, there were only 2 button options below create Snapshot and Delete. This is where it gets confusing to me. Is it required to create a new plex zvol? Or is there a way to link my existing /Windows_share and change the name to plex instead? I would like to save it because of media contents already uploaded.
I have attempted to create a dataset from menu on left side. However i was unable to locate /plex zvol. Only /mnt/volume1 AND /mnt/volume1/windows_share were visible.

Please help me find a resolution. Thank you for the anticipated helpful responses.

I don't think you have read the documentation.

Read it. It explains volumes, zvols, and datasets. Once you understand them, then you can work with plex.
