Hi All,

New Noob here... I have arrived onsite to find this freeNAS setup. The system suffered a power failure and now it will not boot. Basically a prompt on screen is stating: "cannot mount / find boot".

The system has a RAID 1 mirror 1.5Gb. Its a hardware RAID.

I have downloaded and created a FreeNAS 8.0 botable USB stick and loaded it. I select boot FreeNas in Default mode. Upon boot i receive an error:

"Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/ufs/FreeNass1a"
"mount: /dev/ufs/FreeNASs3 : No such file or directory"
"mount -o ro /dev/ufs/FreeNASs3 /conf/default/etc failed: dropping into /bin/sh"

I want to recover information from the RAID 1 array if possible. Apparently the backups were working, but i cannot access the data by plugging in the external USB HDD into a windows PC.

Cheers. Any help will be appreciated!
