Hello,
I'm trying to setup FreeNAS and regardless of how I setup volumes, users shares 'anything' I cannot access the shares from my PC.
If I'm unlucky then it tells me I don't have permission to even view the shares and if I'm really lucky I can get as far as mapping shares but then get permission denied if I try to create a folder or file.
I have tried every setting I can see.
Can it be that the only way to use FreeNAS is to have no security whatsoever!!!

I just want ONE user with access to a folder (machine is on domain but I do not want the freenas to be part of the domain)
I'd rather not strip off all security as I don't want other users on the domain to be able to access the freenas.
Banging my head against a wall here!

I think I've got there.... thanks to finding a video from m0nkey_ :D

I've trawled through several 'help' files and so many of them miss out vital stages or even get them in the wrong order!!!

What did you find? Which part of the User Guide needs to be changed to help others not have this problem?

yes it would help others in the future who search when they have a problem if you would post what you did and what video you watched specifically.
