I read in the hardware recommendations thread that hardware with an FSB should be avoided with ZFS. Does this include the CPU? I'm looking at the Xeon E3 family for a freenas build and am having trouble discerning fsb specs. Thanks for your help.

It's a function of the chipset, and certain processors are used with certain chipsets. So, yes. The FSB processors tend to consume lots of power for relatively low performance, and have some other IO challenges.

Wikipedia has a great list of the entire Xeon family here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Xeon_microprocessors
Anything Nehalem or better is post-FSB. Any of the E3/E5 processors are fine.
