Hello everybody,

I'm 33 years old and new to FreeNAS, but I have used a QNAP NAS for like a 7 or 8 years now. It's a pretty old and slow one (obviously), but for the things I used it for it's (or was?) fine. I'm thinking of buying/building a new NAS, also because I have some hardware lying around that hopefully I'll be able to use for (a) FreeNAS. I have been reading and searching on the forum, but still have some questions. So I'll probably be asking my first question soon...

So I don't really know what to tell you guys more at this point. If you have a question, just ask! :)

Welcome! Do check out the hardware recommendations guide--the more closely your system matches what's recommended, the better the chance that it will all work fine.

I've already been checking that out, but still not sure about my CPU... Hope it's sufficient.
