Getting Ready to Pull the Trigger on New Hardware

So this is my first foray into non-consumer grade hardware. I'm pretty nervous about it. I've spent days reading, researching and debating builds. I found myself looking at some 'good deals for cheap hardware' and then backing away from the ledge and reluctantly coming to the conclusion that its probably for the best that I pay a premium on some decent hardware.

Below is what I've assembled to purchase (prices are in CAD). I'm looking just a motherboard, CPU and Ram. I have a beefy processor (I've noticed many others with i3s) because I want to future proof myself for allowing Plex to transcode 4K x265 media and the passmark on this CPU is pretty much the minimum. However the cost of this is quickly getting away on me and perhaps an i3-7100 (like this) would be best with an upgrade later (it would save me about $150 CAD).

I'm pretty sure the motherboard and the CPU are a match from looking at the Supermicro site. However the description of the motherboard leaves much to be desired as it only reference v5's and only states "Memory: 4x 288pin DDR4-2133/ 1866/ 1600 DIMM Slots, ECC". The Supermicro site obviously says v6/v5 and 2400mhz memory. It's also strange that the image of the motherboard above (which is the same images used on the Supermicro site) doesn't show the aux CPU power connector. I had to look at the manual and it appears its under the yellow thing (sticker?) at the top right of the ram slots.

I'm also nervous about memory compatibility having read some horror stories. I took the part (M391A2K43BB1-CRC) right from the Supermicro website and searched on newegg, so there should be compatibility....? Are there any cheaper options like the type recommended from crucial (CT16G4WFD8266)?

Any indication that I'm on the right track here would be comforting!

Thanks in advance for your help and support!

Cheers,
