Hello,
I have the problem that my boot pool is at 95% capacity and I don't exactly understand why.

Code:
root@freenas:~ # zpool list
NAME SIZE ALLOC FREE CKPOINT EXPANDSZ FRAG CAP DEDUP HEALTH ALTROOT
freenas-boot 222G 213G 9.28G - - - 95% 1.00x ONLINE -

I tried to see what the issue is but I have the feeling that the below command s not actually helping as the pool is not mounted in a way that is easily accessible to me.

root@freenas:~ # du -hsx /boot/*

I had "freenas-boot" configured as the system dataset pool with the syslog switch being turned off. I have changed it to a different pool now but I don't have the feeling that it helped except from maybe stopping the pool from filling up even more.

I am on FreeNAS-11.3-U5 and my question now is how do I fix it and how do I prevent it from happening again.

I found the issue.
For some reason when I was doing backups to an external USB drive, the files went to a folder named /USB on the freenas-boot pool.
