Fresh zoneminder install error 404 not found

So maybe someone can help.

First I checked other threads, but they are way older or no one has answered with this problem.

I'm on the lastest stable build of truenas core, I installed several times the zoneminder plugin now and everytime I try to open it it gives me the 404 error.

After the install the log said all installed, I just saw that on the log bottom it says no such file or direction. That's the only thing I found and I can't explain.

Is their a issue with the plugin and truenas atm or what could be the problem?

I attache a pic so people can see what I mean with no such file or direction.

So, plug-ins as a system are being removed in 2025, and aren’t being maintained. There are some alternatives.

You could switch to Scale, which has zoneminder as an app.

Or you could create your own jail and install zoneminder according to the documentation here. https://www.freshports.org/multimedia/zoneminder/

This is as simple as pkg install zoneminder but the db server and web server will also have to be configured.

All the instructions to do so are in the link I shared above.

If you don’t want to get your hands dirty doing cli work, I’d suggest you go to Scale and try the App from there first.

So with other words core will get completely removed bei scale? Can I migrate my core config to a new scale install without problems? Or do I have to all from scratch?

Btw I only have smb shares atm on my core setup

I believe you could just import the config. But don’t quote me. Someone else should answer that.

No, Core is not being replaced. Only the plugins that are part of core will go away.

You need to add the community train.

Go to Manage Catalogs, then edit the Scale catalog and select community as well as official as the train.

The latest image from truenas scale already hast the trains (charts and community) built in, I see chart Plugins and community plugins, but their is no zoneminder

Sorry it’s actually in the Truecharts catalog in the incubator train.

I installed it yesterday and got it working with the tips at the bottom of this thread:

I have just tried to install zoneminder plugin on a fresh install of FreeNAS (already setup storage and shares) and whenever I navigate to its IP address, it says "404 not found" and changes the url to http://192.168.1.97/zm. Not sure why its doing this. I am installing it from the plugins page...
