Hi all,

I have followed a guide to install transmission-daemon on FreeNAS system, and all look ok except that my settings.json file is overwritted at each startup ..

So I am not able to disable the rpc-whitelist, each time I change this line :

"rpc-whitelist-enabled": true,

with

"rpc-whitelist-enabled": false,

and then restart FreeNAS, I end up with the line

"rpc-whitelist-enabled": true,

Anyone can help me ?

Thank in advance.

Can you tell us what version of FreeNAS you're using and a link to the guide you mention?

It sounds like you are trying to write to your flash drive or there are some permissions wrong.

I'am using FreeNAS 8.0 Release, and transmission-daemon 2.13.

He is the link to the guide

At first I had a right problem so the settings file wasn't generated at all, so I have set everything under the root user to be sure that transmission has all access.

Ok I solved my problem with a workaround.

I put all thing I need to configure inside the rc.conf file, to do so I have had to modify the transmission file to allow -a parameter to be passed by the rc.conf file.

So I have set -a to *.*.*.* to allow every IP address to enter.

rc.conf is in /conf/base/etc/

transmission is in /conf/base/etc/rd.d/ (manually copied there after package installation, I just followed the HOWTO linked above)

And the Settings.json file is in the directory you which (specified by rc.conf), in my case /mnt/SecureStorage/WinShare/_Downloads/transmission/
