Hi I wonder if someone can shed some light on the following question

Does the plex media server work with both AMD and Intel CPU's?

I have been running freenas and plex on an old amd system for a year now with no problems it has be working flawlessly :)

I have recently upgraded to an intel based system and install the plex plugin But it will not startup?

This is what is installed through the installation menu

Plexmediaserver 0.9.9.13.525 plexmediaserver-0.9.9.13.525-amd64

Why does it still say amd64?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated?

amd64 is because amd created the 64-bit instruction set so their name is basically appended to prevent confusion with other 64-bit designs. Most people use the x64 or amd64 to signify that the software is compatible with that architecture (in this case you could also consider it x86 + 64-bit extensions). But everyone calls it amd64 or x64.

There's tons of others like sparc64, rs64, itanium, etc.

Yes, Plex works on Intel just as well as AMD. Your problem is certainly not because of your choice of CPU.
