Where to start...

I have gotten FreeNAS installed And running on VMware ESXi 6.5. I am 100% new to FreeNAS so been doing alot of reading / Youtube vids. For my FreeNAS / Plex set up for the most part I am following this Video on how he set everything up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaiBWJ2r2Hg.

I have FreeNAS / Volumes / Datasets all setup and working ... I can see the folders on my net work and copy to / from.

However, when I get to setting up plex I cant connect to its IP.

What I know,

Plex is installed
Plex Jail storage is set up
Plex enabled
Checked box to disable security
Changed IP to something other then what is was
Open the port 32400 on router
turned off IPv4 security ( Just to test)
rebooted VM and HOST

FreeNAS VM is 100% working, VM networking dont have A card to passthru and try..

I'm not sure how you can get that working exactly. But, I can tell you that you can run Plex in a vm off of the ESXi host and use the freenas storage thru a share.

You can try enabling promiscuous mode in the ESXi network settings.

How did you enable the Promiscuous mode? I am having this very same problem. Thanks in advance.

(EDIT : Not sure if it matters, but I shutdown my VM before I did this )

Click on your FreeNAS VM , Under Hardware Configuration, Next to Network adapter their should be A clickable (blue) VM Network . Click that.
Click Actions / Edit Settings / Security ... It should be the first thing under that.

Hope that fixes it for you, GL

I have (see my signature for hardware), FN 9.10.4 up on esxi 6.5 I have a lacp setup and running for freenas. It works wonderfully, except no jails work. I have the cards and vswitch in promiscus mode to no avail. I can ping freenas proper but no jail can get out or be pinged. Any thoughts from anyone? anything to try etc would be helpful.
Thanks again for all your help!
