I updated one of my boxes over the weekend to the latest stable build, then to my surprise this morning I had another email telling me a new update was available. I went to check out the release notes and found that freenas.org was totally down. Is this update legit? I start to get the paranoid itch when a major site outage follows shortly after an 'update' being available.

based on the link at the top of the forums, pointing you to the downloads, there was indeed an update pushed on the 28th November

I believe they're all signed and FreeNAS verifies the signatures on download.

OK, I am seeing an oddity at Freeness.org as well. I upgraded all three servers to FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201511280648. When I check for updates on one of the servers (only one of them is doing this), the system is suggesting that I need to "update" to FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201511040813, which is a version back. I have verified the system on all three boxes, and all are clean. When I go to freenas.org, the latest is showing as version FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201511040813. Did I miss something? Was there something wrong with FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201511280648 that forced them to roll it back?

Very confused here.

Again. I still see the 1128 version.

I am also now back to seeing the Nov 4th version, can we get someone at iXsystems to weigh in on this? Is this a CDN problem, a rollback of a bad release problem, or something worse? @jkh ?

We had a temporary DNS outage at freenas.org that caused some weirdness but everything should be back to normal now.
