FreeNAS on ESXi 5.1

Hi all, does anyone have a setup as above, i get very poor throughput on E1000 emulated NIC when writing to the NAS, yet read performance is what I would expect on gigabit network?.....

Have single core 3Ghz and 4GB RAM VM FreeNAS..

Any help appreciated....
Oh, and I wish to run in VM without ZFS as the hardware can still be used for home VM testing with the other server resources on the box...

VM hardware version? SCSI Controller? Which build of FreeNAS? Are you using anything ontop of UFS(ie compression?)?

is this the free version of vmware or commercial? have you applied the patches to get up to build 914609? I had issues prior to applying the patches?

I just checked the portal, they have another patch as well that was just released

you want to use vmxnet2. I had the problem when I use E1000. vmxnet3 does not work with FreeBsd.
