Received the following. The system has not been rebooted in over three weeks. There were two emails generated by UPS activity indicating the system was on battery and then back on ac power.

Could these be cause by power events too short to cause the UPS to kick in? Is that even possible?

That looks like the communication between a "CPS" and your FreeNAS machine was interrupted multiple times. It may have been from the power transfers or not. If you don't see it regularly and the UPS picks up as it should then I wouldn't worry about the email.

I'm a bit confused here... Is CPS a Couch Potato Server? What is on usbus0? If you have some external device that is not on the Battery side of the UPS and you have a power failure then that could be expected, however if you are thinking this is the connection between the UPS and the NAS, then this shouldn't be happening.

Sometimes it is worth increasing the polling interval for the UPS if it sometimes fails to reply in a timely way.

The CPS is a CyberPower Ssystems UPS. It seems to work fine. It is thunderstorm season here in Houston. The day the security email is referencing we had a very bad storm. I did get one email from the system indicating the system had gone onto battery power and then a email saying I was back on AC power. However there are many more messages in the security email. I will monitor. I have another CPS UPS on my main PC. If these mesages persist I will swap the united and see if the messages continue.
