FreeNAS as Internet Gateway

I am intending to set up FreeNAS as an Internet Gateway for my LAN. Can anyone point me to any useful links for such a configuration?

I would like to configure FreeNAS as a DHCP server, but not sure how it should interact with my ADSL modem... Should I setup FreeNAS as 192.168.0.1? Can I assign multiple IP addresses (one internal, one external) to the same NIC?

I used to understand how this stuff used to work - but that was back in the OS/2 days :)

Not a chance you will be able to set this up without some hackery. As this is totally unsupported and not even remotely recommended I'm going to lock this thread.
