I got a new server and did a fresh install of FreeNAS 9.2.1 and tried to configure it as a domain controller. The DC setup seemed to work but I could not access my shares from my windows machine, so I checked the freenas forums and saw that there was an update (9.2.1.1) which also addressed some CIFS issues.
After the update, "Directory Services" won't start - There is no error message, the "progress bars" next to the entry just keep running and nothing happens. I also don't see any console messages, since as soon as I unlock my volumes after a restart (I have encrypted volumes), the console messages in the footer disappear (and there is no /var/log directory any longer).
Even if I disable the Domain Controller (selecting the "-----------" entry as "Domain Controller" in "Settings" --> "General") I cannot start CIFS, same thing, the progress bars keep doing their thing and nothing happens.
