<whining>Now that FreeBSD 11 is out, when can we see FreeNAS 10.11? Or 11.0?</whining>

On a more serious note, FreeBSD 9.3 is scheduled for EOL the end of this year, 2016. Plus, same
for FreeBSD 10.1 & 10.2, (but not 10.3), end of this year, 2016. So it appears that iXsystems usage
of FreeBSD 10.3 in FreeNAS 9.10 was proper planning

For those that don't know, FreeNAS 9.3 is based on FreeBSD 9.3. But, FreeNAS 9.10 is based on
FreeBSD 10.3, with the same user interface as FreeNAS 9.3.

Updated post to reflect FreeNAS 9.10 is based on FreeBSD 10.3.

No, FreeNAS 9.10 is based on FreeBSD 10.3.

Note that the ReleaseNotes file states FreeBSD 10.3-RC3 for all releases in the 9.10/STABLE branch including FreeNAS 9.10.1-U2, which is wrong for all of them but the very first one from March 2016, as far as I remember.

BTW, uname on FreeNAS 9.10.1-U2 says:
Code:
scr@blunzn:~ % uname -r
10.3-STABLE
