Fix it or Reinstall?

Just recently my freeenas 9.3 would not update anymore. Errno 28. No Space left on device.

I have been looking for a fix but still no luck.
So, I was thinking to reinstall on bigger USB stick.

If I was to backup my configure, reinstall with latest build and restore the configure, would I be able to retain my data in zfs volume?

Remove some unneeded snapshots from the boot device.

The fix is to delete one or more boot environment but if you use a USB stick smaller than 8 GB it might be a good choice to change for a bigger one :)

Yes, the data is very well separated from the system, you can reinstall without a problem. Just think to backup the config (and the encryption keys if you use encryption) before, even if you should already have a backup... ;)

I feel like bragging now...but how would you delete one or more boot environment.
I have been looking for this too but could not find the right answer..or step...

1. Go to System | Boot.
2. Select a boot snapshot.
3. Click the Delete button.
