so came in this morning and looked at UI to check data transfer rates for backups last night ... see nothing on graph for network, cpu, etc.. then see log file showing this:

Code:
Apr 29 00:49:55 nas1 kernel: Failed to write core file for process collectd (error 14)
Apr 29 00:49:55 nas1 kernel: Failed to write core file for process collectd (error 14)
Apr 29 00:49:55 nas1 kernel: pid 3557 (collectd), uid 0: exited on signal 11

restarted system and everything appears to be working fine.

running 9.10 stable with latest updates.

anything special about this? first time I've seen that error.

thanks

Hardware specs? Signal 11 is often indicative of faulty RAM.

hmm.. that might make me not smile..

Dell 2950
2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5345 @ 2.33GHz
32GB (8x4GB) PC2-5300 DDR2 ECC Fully Buffered Server Memory (new last year)

FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE-201604261518 (881b70d)

will see what I can run for RAM tests

any other indications that I should look for/at?

thanks!!

for clarification .. the 'reporting' stopped just after midnight as shown here:
