Expanding pool from single drive to multi drive - RAIDZ

I currently bought a single 4TB drive for my new server setup as I currently don't have the budget for more, but I want to upgrade in the future. So if I have a single drive spool now and i half a year I decide I want to put in 3 more drives and run all 4 in a raid, how would I go about that? Or would this be impossible without data loss?

You'd need to destroy the pool, create a new pool with your four drives, and restore from your backup.
