Hi @ all,

So, as stated in title, I was in 9.2.1.6.
According to various sources here and in the docs, I first installed 9.3 with a ISO, from a USB key and imported the config file.
It worked very well.

Then I wanted to Update to 11 (or 11.2) from the new Update system menu.

Note : At first I updated to 9.3.1 (maybe that's the reason for following errors ?)
Then, after this first successful upgrade to 9.3.1, I finally changed trains to 11.2 and tried the update.... but not luck, the webGUI threw this error :
"Error : Unable to remove contents for package docs"
In a green bar on top of the screen.
Note that I did NOT update my ZFS volumes.

In the GUI 11 and 11.2 trains will throw the same error.

When upgrading from a shell, with 11.2 Train and "-v", I get these error lines :
"Update got exception during update: Unable to remove contents for package docs
RunCommand(/usr/local/sbin/beadm, ['destroy', '-F', u'FreeNAS-dd4d90c6c80736da40a3d2d61657c308'])
ERROR: Boot environment 'FreeNAS-dd4d90c6c80736da40a3d2d61657c308' does not exist
Unable to apply update: Unable to remove contents for package docs"

Should I start everything over and not upgrade to 9.3.1 ?
Also, in that case, should I upgrade to 11 first, or directly to 11.2 ?

How complex is your configuration? If it isn't, the quickest/easiest path might be a fresh install of 11.2-U6 followed by a recreation of your config.

It is "relatively complex", but mostly, I didn't create it and don't have a full control/understanding of it.
I'd prefer trying 1 or 2 tricks to upgrade before starting it all over.

Note that the first "Upgrade" to 9.3 was really a full Install on a different USB, and then restore of my 9.2.1.6 config file.

Ok, I managed the upgrade to 11.2.

I only used the "Update" tab.
The difference is that I went step-by-step :
9.3.1 --> 9.10 --> 11 --> 11.2
It all went well, my shares are visible, we'll see tomorrow if rsync modules work like they should, but I'm guessing it'll be all fine.

Thanks !
