Hey everyone, new here. I was previously running/still am running a Synology box. I am in the process of demoing FreeNAS on some existing hardware I have before updating and switching everything over. When installing however I am running into issues mounting the USB drive that the installer is on. The error I am gett is "mounting from xxxxxx failed with error 2; retrying for xxx seconds". I have tried a couple of trouble shooting steps such as making sure I am using USB2 ports on the motherboard, and got a USB2 flashdrive out to try as well. My hardware is:

CPU: Pentium G4600
Motherboard: MSI Z270 TOMAHAWK
Memory: 2x8GB GSkill AEGIS
HDD: HGST Ultrastar 7K4000 7200 RPM 4TB

All the parts are things I had laying around that I wasn't using anymore so I could try out FreeNAS before switching. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Were you able to resolve this? If not, is the BIOS at its latest revision?

What method are you using to create the installer boot drive? What version of FreeNAS did you download?

PS. This is not ideal hardware. Do you have something a little older and less "Gamer" oriented?
