I have been playing around with Freenas for a while. I have the basics. I built a machine out of literly junk I had in a box. Only 32 bit, But it worked the first time and was enough to get me hooked. So i built a 64 bit machine out of a Dell Optiplex 755,
Intel core duo 2 E6550
clock 2.33
processor 4MB
ram 4.0GB, 667 MHz, DDR2 SDRAM unbuffered
Drives- 3 = 1.5 TB
SATA Operation is set to RAID Autodetect / AHCI

Problem, It loads up only part way, or so it seems. I see the Welcome screen then it continues to boot right past it. When it stops the last 4 lines read;
KBD: enter: panic
[ thread pid 1 tid 100002]
Stopped at kdb_enter+0x3b: movq $0,0xaf01d2(%rip)
db>
There are hundreds of lines of script before this. I think it is a bios setting, I just can not find the right one.
I looked through the threads, There are just so many of them, and my searches wern't getting me anywhere.
Thanks, Jeff

Thanks, Back to the beginning.
I know what I'm doing is garage mechinces. I am just learning my away around before I put real money on equipment. My first box took everything I put it through.( and it was built from leftovers) Just trying to teach myself the ropes. I have read what I can, now its time to get my hands dirty.
I will start with a bios update.
Everyone makes it look so easy. Maybe not.
