However, maybe it would be possible to adjust the timing so there is less conflict with Daylight Saving Time measures in North America and Europe? That is move the Long Test to Saturday. And the Short Test to 4:01 AM or later.

I'm not particular to the dates nor times as much as I'd like to see there be a default and iXsystems can choose it, or even if the installation script simply asks the user a few questions during the installation process to establish the values.

Some sane defaults or suggestions could be presented to users. New users cannot be expected to come up with a good schedule in the wizard phase.

Of course. A wizard that preselects a sane schedule (for SMART tests and scrubs, though there already is a default scrub task that is created) and tells the user that it's recommended to run them twice a month sounds like a very high priority to me.
