Hey guys, checkout my cool video which I did with my FreeNAS setup. I did a setup with 8-drives configured in RAID10 ZFS pool.
And I did multiple iterations of failed drives and upgrade drives scenario. Since it is RAID-level10, to speed-up my demo
I did removal/replacement of 2-drives each time. After many iterations I can see the increase in overall storage capacity !

cheers, Kiran

ZFS terminology is different and does not use RAID 10, to avoid confusion, please read the following thread for clarification.
Terminology and Abbreviations Primer

Thanks for posting your video and welcome to the forums!

Wow thank you BigDave. Really helpful. Bookmarked your link.
I am still new to ZFS and FreeBSD as well FreeNAS.
But the experience so far is incredible :)

Besides what I discussed in the video, I did several tests, tried many ways to break the system.
But it is working rock solid.

I may try next formating the primary FreeNAS installed VDI (or remove and create new blank virtual disk),
install fresh copy of FreeNAS and try to import existing zfs pool (or may try in 2 steps), restore the FreeNAS
config. I hope this will also go on without a glitch.

cheers, Kiran

If you at least used proper terminology it would benefit the community immensely.
