You're going to have to do a lot of reading on networking. What you are proposing is just not possible. You can't double your bandwidth by bonding the LAN's and you can't bond your buddies LAN to your WAN or LAN. It's not happening.

Like @danb35 said, it is doubtfull that your router supports this.

What router are you running on?

Nope... won't do what you want, you can't buy some extra NIC and make it do anything remotely like what you want to do, and the only way to do something resembling (note it will not do *exactly what you want it to do*) will require buying a router that supports dual WAN.

Please read up on dual WAN setups, which have nothing to do with FreeNAS at all.

Since this is not about FreeNAS I'm moving this to "off topic".

Ddwrt supports dual wan by making use of vlan.
1 nic in the server, modem and repeater connected to the router, away ya go!

DDWRT might support dual WANs, but your current hardware doesn't.
