Cifs share and nextcloud on same dataset

Hi,

Is it a bad idea to set up cifs sharing of a dataset while mounting the same dataset in nextcloud as local external storage?

If so, would the correct solution be to mount the dataset through the nextcloud smbclient?
Would using the smbclient mounting method decrease performance much?
