can't get original disk size

Hello,

I had 4 very old 3 TB WD Greens in RAID1 in my backup system running 11.2-U7. Some while ago system refused to load showing these kind of screens:

I suspected system flash USB or hardware fault and reinstalled the systems with new flash USB. This was accomplished successfully. The pool was backup nature and there is no threat to loose data. All I need is to reassemble my pool again and continue replication from Main system. But 2 drives out of 4 appear smaller in size: ada0 and ada1 are both 1.82 TiB, and other two are 2.73 TiB which I assume is correct size for WD30EZRX disk. Wiping thru GUI, than Acronis and Win10 installation media - all didn't help, they only see unallocated space of 1.82 TB and nothing more. Even smartctl states user capacity 2 TB size for WD30EZRX disks:

All 4 HDDs are old and were showing pending sectors. But even if ada0 and ada1 were loaded with failures - could it downsize them this way? It seems the problem is coming from the fact that the pool was not exported in correct manner and disks still hold some previous mapping?

Thanks for reply, Chris, I will. Two questons before I start: 1) can FreeNAS decrease "user capacity" due to bad sectors and 2) will badblocks command destroy mapping and return disk to original size, so I need to run it first? If I run smartctl -t I will probably only test a visible part of drive.

Here is smartctl long test output for all 4 disks. I need to delete General SMART Values and some other data to fit 30 000 symbols limit. As seen, serial WD-WCAWZ0719246 recognized as 2,000,421,444,608 bytes [2.00 TB] while it is WDC WD30EZRX-00MMMB0 means 3 TB device.

HDDs ata2 and ata3 have ATA errors reported. These errors were probably a reasons for problems I started to have about moth ago.

Can I keep these HDDs for my Backup machine? If HDDs are still reliable I could even allow for $100 investment and add another 3 TB disk to have them 5 in total and organize RAIDZ2 pool instead of RAIDZ1. This RAIDZ2 would almost match my 10+10 TB Mirror at MainArray machine.

Or these HDDs are NOT reliable and then I need to set a lot larger investment and replace all disks?
