SOLVED Cannot create pool on fresh install of 11.2

Hello,

I am trying to test using FreeNAS and I was able to get it loaded onto a spare system I had. I got it up and running ok, but from the GUI when I try to create a pool of the 2 HDD's listed, I get the following error:

Error: Command '('gpart', 'create', '-s', 'gpt', '/dev/ada0')' returned non-zero exit status 1.

I am not sure what is wrong. I have tried creating the pool using just 1 drive and it still errors the same. Am I missing something?

Hardware specs? Are these brand new or used drives? What type of HBA?

The motherboard is old:

The hard drives are Western Digital Caviar Blacks:

I was using the onboard controller to handle things. I cannot find the model of what the onboard controller is specifically.

If this issue is something I should be able to resolve by just digging through the freenas docs and posts, just let me know.

I got it figured out.

I went into the controller setup while system loading and found it still had a RAID created. I deleted that and then tried to create the pool and it worked fine.
