Hello everyone! I'm quite new to FreeNAS. I'm converting an old Windows Home Server 2011 home-built system to FreeNAS. Before I get started, however, I'm trying to plan everything out on paper first. One thing I'm wondering about is can I somehow back up files on a FreeNAS system to the USB shared drive that comes with my router, specifically a Netgear Nighthawk ReadyShare drive? Netgear provides software called ReadyShare Vault that can be installed on Windows machines that will back up to the router shared USB drive, but I haven't seen anything like this for FreeNAS. Does anyone know how I could do this? This will be a rudimentary attempt at keeping my data safe: data is replicated via RAID on the server, then backed up to the USB drive which sits away from the server. At this point I am trying to not pay for cloud backup if I can pull this off with the hardware I already have. Thanks for your input!
