BTSync Plugin + any other plugin not working

I maybe jumping the gun here posting to the forum as I can see from other posts there seems to be some issues with the plugin downloads through the gui but the posted workarounds don't seem to be working for me and known good plugins just refuse to work so I'm posting just as a sanity check.

OK so followed a couple of guides 1 2 on getting BTSync up and running have had no success just keep getting the following errors;

As you can see also getting the same error with transmission.

I have also tried to create a standalone BTSync jail as per this guide, in both cases I get minimal errors at /var/log/messages on freenas just what's above, what I did notice was 'service btsync start' brought back that btsync wasn't defined in /etc/rc.d/ or local user.
And after a flattening the config db and redeploying the plugin via upload plugin I now get,

Will not 'start' btsync because btsync_enable is NO. And nothing auto starts but the jails are up and running.

as FYI btsync is user and group with ID817, the jail was created by installing transmission and letting it create it.

So can anyone kick me in the right direction, it maybe a total noob issue as it got to be 4 years since I last played with freenas and it feels very unfamiliar now :)

Well after re-reading the thread underneath my post properly, it looks like the bug listed here https://bugs.freenas.org/issues/5038 got me on a scratch install so not really sure how anyone else got anything to install plugin wise in the first place..

If anyone has a workaround please post some info as I think this has been a problem for about 6 months and I normally can find most thing pretty quick through the magic of google and I'm now on my second day hunting around the net.

Just a quick update, I've been looking all over the forum for a fix but as yet nothing stands out other than the fact I've done some stuff in the GUI which other of far better standing say can't be done :) so I'm going to flatten the Freenas setup completely, again..... just to prove the point before I post messages to other threads.

Just as a note to my self and this was mentioned in another post with regards to the issues with plugins you can delete jail/ plugin data without issue if you stop the jail first at that point the zfs datasheet can be destroyed as it's obviously not busy or in use and I have a suspicion this is where I originally went wrong.. dope..

You can then delete the plugin still from the plugin jail, but you cannot delete the jail as you get 'warden_exception('ERROR: No such jail!\n',)' in the web GUI which is fairly obvious :)

I have followed another forum post about this and used the warden delete function to remove but still never worked after that.... got the mis-match with JID and JLS

since then I cannot got jails to work properly and I get all the weird behaviour that senior people on the forum say can't happen.

One quick question should JLS list the IP address of the jail / plugin as mine doesn't?...

Anyways off to flatten my test box.

So ok brand new install -> reimport my zfs and install transmission 2.77 manually same error...

is this a permissions error maybe?? anyone..

Did you ever get this to work? If not, which version of FreeNAS?

At first BTSync plugin wouldn't even install. I deleted the datasets and jails, then created a new boot USB with 9.2.1.6 Reinstalled BTSync plugin, but then it wouldn't start the service - got the screen message below. In /var/log/messages got the following:
freenas manage.py: [plugins.utils:92] Couldn't retrieve http://10.0.1.33/plugins/btsync/1/_s/status: HTTP Error 504: Gateway Time-out

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Have you tried manually creating a jail and uploading the plugin?
