bhyve Networking - config?

Hello,

As I've learned here in the forum recently, in FreeNas 11.0 it's even not possible to assign a MAC address to a VM, so I'm wondering if there is any concept available for selecting all the bhyve networking options (NAT, bridge, NIC..) in FreeNas.

I would like to have a separate IP for the VM and not a NAT by the host.

It's bridged by default, so just configure IP in your guest OS. You get to pick the physical interface to bridge with in the UI. I'm running 5 VMs this way in 11.1-RC3, it works, trust me ;)

OTOH networking for jails and VMs is in need of some improvements, IMHO. I just opened these two issues in Redmine:
