Best practice offsite ZFS snapshots

I have 2 FreeNas servers, The first server (main storage) replicates ZFS snapshots to the second server. Both servers are in same network.

I want to add a offsite mirror for the ZFS snapshots, purely for backup. When the first server should replicate to the offsite, the first sync takes 3 days. In the meantime the second server will not receive zfs snapshots from the first server because zfs send cannot run simultaneously.

My idea was to enable snapshots on the second server from the replicated pool and replicate from the second server to the offsite mirror.

Why not just let it run and catch up? That's the easy solution.
