Hey FreeNas community,
I have a quick question concerning the back-plane I have on my server. Please refer to the picture attached for detail.
Essentially, I want to ask what type of cable and how exactly I would connect the M1015 controller to this backplane?
It looks like a 8087 SAS-like port on the back-plane. Each of the ports controls 4 HD's for a total of 12 HD's.
I read jgrecos sticky post and I thought I would probably need 2 M1015s, 3 cables, each one connected to the ports on the backplane. 2 cables from one m1015 for 8 drives and the other m1015 for the other 4 drives. Would this be correct? Would I encounter any problems with this set up?
If the set up is fine, which exact cable would I need to make this happen?
Thank you all for your help!
