Hi All,

Wondering if someone can take a look at my smartctl out put below, Just had an email saying the error count has increased on my drive, not sure if its failing etc. Have ran the disk through Hard Disk Sentinel and that shows that the drive is perfect 100 health

Thanks

Steve

It doesn't look very good, some recent uncorrectable errors and a non zero Read_Raw_Error_Rate on a WD disk is never good sign, you should run an extended SMART test since you never ran one.

Hmm dont think this drive is very happy at all

Code:

# 1 Extended offline	Completed: read failure 90% 9434 22315704

Just created an RMA Advance to get it replaced.

Sounds like a good idea. Once you've burned-in the replacement and resilvered it into your pool, make sure you have regular SMART tests set up on all disks in your pool. I run a short test daily and a long test weekly; the longest I'd suggest is a short test every 3-4 days and a long test every few weeks.
