Hi All,

I'm still trying to recover some data from an old pool and already have another problem.

I bought a new HDD and more ram to my FreeNas, but, for no apparente reason I've a FATAL TRAP 12, even with no trafic on FreeNas.
Here some screens of the error

and some info about my system at this moment

Already done:
- Changed SATA cables
- Tested RAM for a few hours (100%)
- HDD is new

Any clue?

It's possible the Web GUI be the cause of this?
I've notice, and at this moment, I've high trafic on the server and I've no problems. When I leave the webpage open, I get a FATAL TRAP 12.
Does this make any sense?

Try with a 4GB or larger USB and see if anything is different.

Hello,
Can you confirm that the Promise PDC20378 SATA150 controller is working fine on FreeBSD?
I believe you're getting such errors because the Kernel (BSD and also Linux i.e. everything not M$ Windows) is unable to 'talk' with these series of controllers properly since the vendor does not have a proper driver for anything non-Windows, or anything not some old old version of Red Hat Linux, or perhaps SLES linux. BSD, GNU/Linux etc. is not supported and hence kernel developers are unable to write a good drivers for these series of controllers.
I have a similar issue with VIA VT6421(A) PCI SATA/IDE RAID controller, in Linux recognized as RAID bus controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6421 IDE RAID Controller (rev 50).
It just hangs the whole OS with many DMA errors while transferring data.

So I'm afraid the same issue exists with Promise 378/376 series controllers.

Can you confirm that the controller is working OK @FreeBSD with some other SATA drive perhaps? I doubt..
