Adaptec ASR-51245

Hello,

I was given a supermicro server with an Adaptec ASR-51245. I was wondering if this card is supported by FreeNAS? If it is how can I flash it in to IT mode?

If not what card would be recommended for a 12 drive SASII setup. Drives will be SATA

No, the Adaptec card needs to be thrown in the trash :)

The most recommended HBA is the LSI 9211-8i. With a SAS expander, this card can handle 12 drives without issue.

Edit: Just to clarify, the Adaptec card is no use with FreeNAS. With another OS, such as Windows it might be perfectly acceptable.
