I posted something similar in the wrong forum, so here goes again in the right forum with some better detail. I'm trying to join my FreeNAS server to my Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory Domain. I go to Directory Service --> Active Directory and enter my domain, username, and password and check the enable box...and I get this:

I'm running 9.10.2-U1:

When I look at /var/log/messages I see this:

Code:

Feb 26 14:54:20 hyperionfn manage.py: [common.pipesubr:66] Popen()ing: /usr/bin/kinit --renewable --password-file=/tmp/tmpRvj921 administrator@HYPERION.LOCAL

Feb 26 14:54:34 hyperionfn ActiveDirectory: /usr/sbin/service ix-kinit quietstart
Feb 26 14:55:42 hyperionfn ActiveDirectory: /usr/sbin/service ix-kinit status

I've searched around and found similar issues, but not quite what I'm seeing. I've tried specifying a domain controller, I've tried everything in all caps. Now I'm not sure what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It really does help the RTFM...thanks! That led me to determine that I had a Kerberos realm configured for some reason. Once I deleted that, everything worked perfectly!

So I am actually having this exact same issue... I am using FreeNAS 9.3 and Active Directory was working on the system without issue... Now for some reason its not working at all and when I try to enable AD it comes back at says that it failed to start the service.

Any ideas?
