accidently added disk, can I recover data?

I accidently added a USB hard drive (Windows/NTFS) as a volume to FreeNAS 11. Once I realized my mistake I detached and unplugged it from the server. It was only formatted in FreeNAS, no data was written to it. Is it possible to recover the data that was/is on this drive? If so, how?

Maybe, but you're more likely to find help where there is significant NTFS expertise.

Cool, so FreeNAS/ZFS does not perform some destructive DoD-type unrecoverable methods when formatting/add volumes?

Well, it's going to overwrite stuff, but there's no point in overwriting the whole drive.
