I was adding a new disk to my 5 disk raidz1 array and I accidentally, or Freenas 8 automatically, set the new drive to a striped disk. I don't know the ramifications of this. How does a striped drive help a raidz1 array? can I remove it? I read about striped arrays and it said that removing a striped disk will destroy the array. Where can I find out about this? I would like to remove the striped disk and reformat it to use somewhere else.

set up: FreeNAS-8.0.3-RELEASE-x64 (9395), AMD dual core E-350, 8MB ram

i'd make a copy if possible of the raidz before removing the stripe.

I've added raidz to a pool using the gui , that works just like it should. But the a added
4 drives to an existing pool.

Please report the outcome
