Hi everyone, everything on my freenas is working great except I simply cannot get rysnc working to a qnap. After some digging it is something to do with authentication being required on the qnap and the GUI of freenas not having this capability/
I have to create a password file on the freenas and reference it from the rysnc job.
Genuinely I have no idea how to do this, all the web says is to do it and set permissions to 600, I have no understanding of how to do this from the command line.
I can shh into the nas ok, that much I understand. Could someone please give me step by step instructions now on creating this file and putting it where ever it needs to be on the freenas and then setting this 600?
I would really appreciate it.
