Hi,

I installed a FreeNas 9.10 to a new disk and imported/uploaded the settings database from my previous FreeNas installation (which is still available on an USB-stick). Importing the settings worked fine.

Now I'm trying to import my existing encrypted zfs pool consisting of 6 disks ada1 to ada6. According to the manual chapter 8.1.6.1 I need my geli.key (which I have), my Passphrase (which I remember) and I have to select the disks:

decrypt.png

(This screenshot is from the manual)

Unfortunately my list of disks is empty :( But in general FreeNas 'know' them, because it lists all disks in the disk view of the web gui.

Any idea why my disks don't show up in the import volume dialog?

TIA

Christian

What's the output of camcontrol devlist?
What hardware are you using?

See signature.
People on mobile can't see signatures, so please explicitly tell us your hardware.

Anyway, the drives seem to be visible to the OS, so I'd file a bug report and see where it goes. On what version did you create the pool?

Meanwhile... Is there a way to import the pool via the console providing geli.key and passphrase?

I have made some progress by detaching the locked drives and then it let me import the volumes :), this is not mentioned in the documentation that i noticed.

can you describe what you have done?
I'm still facing the problem, because I had to install Freenas on a new USB-Stick...

They detached the volume from the old install before using the new install to import the disks.
