Hi,

as my system is running without problems there is still the information:

Code:
status: The pool is formatted using a legacy on-disk format. The pool can
still be used, but some features are unavailable.
action: Upgrade the pool using 'zpool upgrade'. Once this is done, the
pool will no longer be accessible on software that does not support feature
        flags.

The release notes for 9.1.1 say that there are some stability issues fixed with the new zfs. I wonder if I can do the upgrade without any trouble. I read about a bad upgrade from 8.3.1 to a 9.1beta.

Anyway is it healthy to run the pool in the current state of 8.3.1 within a freenas 9.1.1 environment or is the pool in any "danger"?

There's no problem running with an older zpool version. You still get the benefit of the zfs/kernel stability fixes in 9.1.1. You only need to upgrade the pool if you want to use any of the new features (like the LZ4 compression).

Thx for the quick response. So I go on with 'Never change a running system'.
