8.2 AFP large file transfers fail

We have a 72TB 8.2 setup, 16GB ram, partitioned into blocks of 8x3tb disks.

We are trying to move a large qty of files over, but repeatedly the file transfer fails when using a osx 10.7 machine and afp.

Any suggestions/others with this issue?
